Sealing Power

The Temple “Sealers” are supposed to have the sealing power which is the power to bind on earth and bind in heaven. But they only perform ordinances saying that these blessing we are given are not ours, but can be ours determined by our faithfulness. And We know that as with all church ordinances, God must seal or ratify them to make them of effect in heaven. This essentially means that the sealer is able to bind on earth, but not in heaven. hmmm… Not must power there as any bishop can do that. In some states, any person can do that. (One man married his brother in-law to his wife because they asked him to do it and the state recognized it, so they were bound on earth, but not in heaven.) Why do sealers NOT bind people in heaven if they have the power? Either they don’t really have the power to bind in heaven or the system is too flawed to allow them to use that power because they would be binding in heaven people who should NOT be bound. Either way, we see the same result and a temple sealing is an ordinance that becomes a sign post pointing to the true sealing which happens by the Holy Spirit of promise. (By the way, 3rd Nephi didn’t have this issue. He received the sealing power from God directly and was able to and did bind on earth and in heaven.)
