The Unspeakable Gift of the Holy Ghost

Chapter 9

With Ears to Hear and Eyes to See

“Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:" - Jer. 5: 21

There are many who have ears and yet hear not the voice of the Lord.  Hearing the voice of the Lord means to be able to hear the witness of the spirit.  It means to hear with spiritual ears that which cannot be heard with physical ears.  It means to be able to see with spiritual eyes that which cannot be seen with natural or physical eyes.  When we refer to physical things, we are referring to those things which can be seen, touched or experienced with the physical body.

When we refer to spiritual things, we are referring to those things which can not be seen or touched with the physical body because they exist in spirit.  (For example, one might try to touch joy with their finger.)

One of the most difficult things to describe is that which is not physical, but is felt and experienced.

Much like expressing to another person what salt tastes like without using the word salt.  Spiritual things must be experienced to be comprehended and even then, they remain difficult to express to others.

Our spiritual ears and eyes are directly connected to our ability to be open to the promptings of the Spirit.  Those with ears to hear and eyes to see are those who are taught by the spirit and hear with their spiritual ears and see with their spiritual eyes.  They can see the un-seeable and hear the unspoken.  This is the power and blessing of a Seer.

“35. And the Lord spake unto Enoch, and said unto him: Anoint thine eyes with clay, and wash them, and thou shalt see. And he did so.
36. And he beheld the spirits that God had created; and he beheld also things which were not visible to the natural eye; and from thenceforth came the saying abroad in the land:  A seer hath the Lord raised up unto his people.” – Moses 6:35-36

Putting clay in his eyes which handicapped the physical allowed for him to begin to rely on his spiritual eyes to see.  We do not need to put clay in our eyes to see the spiritual because the spiritual is not seen with the physical eyes.  We simply need to realize and learn how to see with our spiritual eyes.

A seer is a person who has the ability to see, with insight or spiritual eyes and not natural eyes, the spiritual world.  (Not necessarily the Spirit World, but the Spiritual World.)  They can see that which cannot be seen and they hear that which was not said.  Often times Christ would teach the people about spiritual or unseen things using physical representations.  We call them parables.  One such topic which Christ used many parables to discuss is the “Kingdom of God”.  He compared it to physical things including a mustard seed and leaven (Luke 13:18-21).  Later his apostles asked him about the parables.

“10. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12. That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?" - Mark 4:10-13

We each have a spirit body hidden inside our own physical body.  We have learned to stop paying attention to the input received by our spiritual bodies.  Because we are both spirit and flesh, we have access to a greater range of experience and input than is we were only spirit or only flesh.  Learn to use all your senses both physical and spiritual.

All the blessings, powers and abilities we had gained as spirits before this physical life remain with our spirits.  This is why spiritually based people seem to have knowledge and insight that is not obtainable by physical means.  They are simply using their spirit body and physical body together at the same time.  Being a Seer means to relearn or refocus on the experience and abilities of our spirit body.

This can be difficult because the physical body is so demanding and loud that it can be hard to be aware of our spiritual bodies and the input we receive from them.  Practicing meditation can help to quite the physical senses so that we can be aware of the spiritual senses.  Elliaison intends to make a number of meditations and guided imageries available in the future that will help you accomplish this.

For example, using our Spiritual eyes, we can see things not available to our natural eyes.

“But now mine own eyes have beheld God; but not my natural, but my spiritual eyes, for my natural eyes could not have beheld; for I should have withered and died in his presence; but his glory was upon me; and I beheld his face, for I was transfigured before him.” -  Moses 1:11

Using our spiritual eyes, we can see visions of remote places, times and people.  Using our spiritual eyes is how we use our “Real Eyes” to see truth or in other words to “Realize Truth”.  Each person that seeks to see the unseen and to know the unknown will become a Seer.  It is impossible for the righteous to not become seers.

“15. For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.” Matt. 13: 15-16

Understanding with your heart is the key to hearing with spiritual ears and seeing with spiritual eyes.  By following the prophets counsel to rely on the spirit, we will be taught to use our spiritual eyes and ears to understand the spiritual world.  We will follow in their footsteps, and like them, become Seers.

Here we ask ourselves, “Can I see the spiritual world?  That which cannot be seen with the natural eyes or heard by the natural ears?  Are you a Seer?
