The Unspeakable Gift of the Holy Ghost

Chapter 18

Practicing and Applying

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” - James 1:22

We have talked about how, when we speak with the power of the Holy Ghost, we are speaking in the name of God, with the voice of God and all of creation recognizes that voice and obeys.  This essentially means that we can act for and like God.

Throughout history, extremely few have learned what we have just taught you in the previous chapters.  Knowing the concepts and principles discussed does not mean that you are able to do what is discussed.  It takes practice.  Practice and effort.

To this, some believe that we should not use the power of God unless occasion warrants.  In doing so, they prevent and limit themselves.

If the spirit is present, and you ask, and are allowed to do it in the name of Christ, then God has sanctioned it.

You might remember that Jesus walked on the water.  He invited Peter to also walk with him on the water.  Nobody was dying, no evil was taking place, no reason of great import was given for walking on the water save that Peter wanted to join Christ on the water, which he did.  And when Peter began to fall in, Jesus said that the only reason he failed was because he lacked faith.

“25. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” - Matt. 14:25-31

This experiment for Peter was nothing more than an exercise of faith.  Ask the Father to teach you and to show you.  Ask to walk on the water, stay the rain, calm the winds, and perform whatever miracle you desire for the sake of learning to exercise your faith.  Obtain the witness of the spirit which lets you know that God sanctions your desire and then under the direction of the Holy Ghost, learn to do that which is right before God.

You do not need men to learn from the spirit.  You can learn everything you need to do by the spirit, angels and messengers of God.  Just remember to always follow the spirit.

NOTE: Elliaison contributors have been preparing several classes intended to teach, exercise and practice the principles discussed in this book.  The conclusion of these classes will be to learn to walk on water as taught by Elliaison contributors who have already done so.  If you would like to participate, send an email with the subject line “Classes” to:  contact@Elliaison.org

When there is enough interest, a class will be organized.
