Unlike many organizations who excommunicate and alienate their associates and members we accept that we are all works in progress. Membership or association with our organization does not mean that the organization, members or associates accept, condone or support any specific actions or decisions by other members or associates.
We accept and expect that all sin and fall short of the glory of God. The scriptures teach,
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." - James 2:10
Regarding the woman caught in adulty the Savior instructed saying,
"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." - James 8:7
Neither the leaders, contributors nor the Elliaison organization feel righteous enough to impose any sort of disciplinary action against sinners that would amount to casting the first stone seeing that we are all guilty of sin. Rather, it is the mutual belief of the Elliaison Team that it is not the whole, but the sick to whom Christ was sent and for whom the atonement was made. If our message comes from Christ, then it must also be to his audience. Casting them out from among us would be taking action contrary to the point and purpose of our mission.
We also recognize that God uses fallible and imperfect men and women to accomplish great things, like Jonah who in-spite of his many personal issues was instrumental in saving the entire city of Nineveh. And Noah who was at least once found drunk and yet was considered righteous enough to bring the seed of Adam through the flood. Even the prophet Nephi who taught by the spirit and had great visions lamented for his own sins. All of these and many more fallible people were found worthy to be prophets called of God. If God could only work with the perfect, then we would all be doomed.
The Savior taught us saying,
"Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye." - Matthew 7:1-5
We believe his words and warn against those who encourage you to act contrary to them. If you are not yet perfected, then you still have beams in your eyes to remove before you are capable of judging others. When you finally remove those beams and look back on your own path to perfection, you will find that others whom you might judge are only walking in your footsteps toward their own perfection. To judge them is to judge the process of growth that you yourself have followed since you were first learning to walk.
If you are tired of the world and the judgement of men, we welcome you to our society of love and peace where you are free to grow beyond the mistakes and sins of your past.
In Love and Peace,
Elliaison
