Some people who don’t know God think that he is like this in that He controls everything and always gets his way. You cross him, He smites you. Their view of God is much like a tyrant who uses fear and threats to get what He wants from people. They don’t understand that what they think is a threat from an all-powerful God is really a warning from a wise and loving God who knows the natural consequences of our actions will bring us the undesired and painful results. Results that come by nature and not as a result of God punishing us or beating us up of disobeying Him. Results that God doesn’t control or have power to change.
