The moment we begin to gain followers the revelations we receive become poisoned and false. We can teach people just fine without gaining followers. The desire to gain followers is an exercise in gratifying pride. It stems from the illusion of power that people seek. Righteous people seek to make equals which cannot be done with followers. Once we have taught something, the person is then enabled to accept or reject it. Truth makes people equals. Teaching the principle is like giving away power because it enables people to govern themselves. Power hungry people don’t teach true principles that free others, they give directions, instructions, rules and laws that bind people and make them subject to them.
