Lies That Prevent Your Progression
And the Answers That Address them
If we are saved no sooner than we can gain knowledge, and the most saving knowledge is that which bridges the gaps between you and God, then the information needed to do so should be shared freely. Peter instructed us saying, "give diligence to make your calling and election sure", (2 Peter 1:10). Many have learned about the Comforter or Holy Ghost, but there is a Second Comforter which is Christ. There are blessings and endowments that can only be received from God directly. These things ought to be taught by those who have received them and understand them.
Satanic forces continued to attempt to prevent such information from being shared, taught and becoming accepted by the mainstream. These efforts aim to prevent the critical mass that will bring the coming millennium. As a result, a lie has been created and propagated which is summarized in the following statement:
"If anyone tells you that they have seen the Savior or had their calling and election made sure or any other such blessing, you can know they are lying because no one would share such sacred things and those who have these blessings are told not to share them."
This lie is often repeated by those who have not had the blessings, but believe the lie. This lie is particularly potent as it accomplishes 2 things.
- It shuts the mouth of those who have had theses experiences so they do not share - The half truth presented in this lie is that these are sacred things and very personal. As such we have no desire to cast pearls before the swine of the world. On the other hand, many of us have a strong desire and often even a commandment to share our witness and experiences for the benefit of others. This lie thereby causes others to condemn and ridicule those who would share and so it shuts the mouth of those who have experienced first hand and are thereby are qualified to assist others in accomplishing the same. This only benefits the dark forces who desire to keep such information contained and away from the masses.
- It shuts the ears of the listeners who would have benefited from hearing - In many instances, those who have had such experiences take courage from the examples of the many prophets in the scriptures who spoke out at the risk of their lives and shared their personal experiences, knowledge, prophecies and experience. In the event that the lie does not achieve it’s primary goal by shutting the mouths of the witnesses, it turns to those listening and attempts to shut their ears so that they refuse to hear. This is accomplished easily as those who accept this lie automatically discredit anyone who makes such claims without any further examination or consideration.
As a testament to the effectiveness of this lie, you only have to consider how much the general membership has heard or understands about the subjects encouraged and discussed on Elliaison. This is amazing when we consider the many scriptures and references that address these subjects.
Another lies that have been propagated focus on a person's position and says that a person must be in a leadership role to have such experiences or to be called by God to teach and help others. This lie is so easily contradicted in the scriptures in hundreds of ways, but those who believe this lie are subject to "confirmation bias" and cannot see what is clearly before them. They will easily accept that the prophet Amos taught saying,
"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." - Amos 3:7
But they are slow to see which prophets Amos is talking about, how they are called and given authority to preach to the people by God. Amos is one of these prophets that was called by God to prophecy and teach the people what the Lord God was about to do. But few realize how he was called to be a prophet and given authority. It wasn't by the laying on of hands, it wasn't by vote or acceptance of the people, and he wasn't called by those in authority. In his own words, here is how the prophet Amos was called;
"Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
Now therefore hear thou the word of the Lord:" - Amos 7:14-16
A simple study into how prophets have always been called easily reveals that they are called by God directly and moved upon by the Holy Ghost, just as was Amos. If a person is moved on by the Holy Ghost, then they have the Authority of God to speak for God as a prophet.
"And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!" - Numbers 11:27-29
"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." - 2 Peter 1:21
If you are moved on by the Holy Ghost, then you have God's authority to act as directed. This is how ancient prophets were called and given their assignments. This is also how you will be called to be a prophet, if you have the Holy Ghost and allow it to move on you to do the Lord's will.
One final lie that many people accept to their detriment...
"Who do you think you are to have such blessings? You're nobody special. You're not worthy."
The answer to this is that you are a son or daughter of God. You are special and were created by God to be special. The only one who determines what you are able to do and receive in this life is you. Remember that anything that does not encourage you achieve your potential as a child of God, is not of God. Because God is not a respecter of persons, every blessing God has to give is available to you. The work is to prepare yourself to receive and accept the blessings of God. Perfection is not a requirement for these blessings. The grace of Christ is abundant and sufficient. Your work is to gain the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can't dwell in unclean temples, so if you have the Holy Ghost, then you are clean. Follow its directions as the voice of God and you will be walked along back into God's presence.
