Alma 55:8-14...... Getting the Guards Drunk
Alma 55:16-17..... Armed the Women and Children as promised
Alma 55:31........ Nephites drink wine
Alma 56:12........ Only Chief Captains taken Prisoner, others slain (result of Moroni freeing the prisoners?)
Alma 56:46-48..... Courage of the Stripling
Alma 57:25........ Promises of God fulfilled, Morale of entire army boosted

Why are these war chapters included?
Will we face similar wars in our day?
Concerning the United States, the Lord revealed to his prophets that its greatest threat would be a vast, world-wide secret combination which would not only threaten the United States, but seek to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations and countries. In connection with the attack on the United States, the Lord told his prophet there would be an attempt to overthrow the country by destroying the Constitution. Joseph Smith predicted that the time would come when the Constitution would hang, as it were, by a thread, and at that time this people will step forth and save it from the threatened destruction. It is my conviction that the Elders of Israel, widely spread over the nation, will at that crucial time successfully rally the righteous of our country and provide the necessary balance of strength to save the institution of constitutional government.
