2 Nefi 28:8 tells us - And there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God--he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
We must remember that this is how the adversary tries to grab hold of us. Everything always starts with doing it "Just once" or "Just a little bit". Once we consent or give in to commenting a little sin, it opens the door to an ongoing habit and eventually leads to an addiction that can grab of hold of us , and have everlasting consequences.
As Elder Oaks of the Twelve Apostles has said, "Satan seeks to deceive us about right and wrong, and to persuade us that there is no such things as sins. This detour starts off whats seems as a small departures, but these detours are addicting. So we see that if we start off with doing it once, can have eternal consequences. I know many people who have gone down this path, and are now tied down by the chains of Satan. It is an easy road to go down, and it is difficult to get back on the road to righteousness.
