Prior to reading this section, we had always assumed there would come some magic day when we were raised from this telestial existence to the highest degree of celestial glory. Yet we are also taught we grow line upon line, precept on precept, here a little, there a little, until the perfect day. It does make sense we must at some point learn to live the terrestrial laws before we can learn the celestial laws. God will not give us more commandments than we are ready to handle.
