Here are the notes I put together for this lesson.
1:5-7 Time is up, uproar
1:9 Set a time to put believers to death; Gadiantons control the government
1:11 Nephi prays
1:13-14 Jehovah answers
1:16-18 Astonished skeptics fall to the earth across the whole land
1:19-21 Description of what happened. What could cause this?
1:22 Almost immediately, unbelievers found a way to explain it through lies
1:27 Gadiantons still strong
2:11-12 Gadiantons increased in strength,
Lachoneus must have started gathering food at this time
2:14-15 Curse of dark skin lifted
3:2-3,6 Boastings of Giddianhi
3:8 I will come next month
3:13-15 Gather everything of value to one place and repent
3:20-21 Confident soldiers with nothing to do
4:4 Prepared for 7 years
16 AD Letter written, boasting to come down next month
17 AD At the end of the year, all is gathered in.
18 AD Gadiantons try to take over abandoned cities, nothing there to eat
19 AD Gadiantons attack (4:5-10)
4:11-14 Battle goes well for the Nephites
21-25 AD Gadiantons return, and lay siege (4:16)
4:20-21 Hungry bandits get beaten
4:23-27 Band of Gadiantons eliminated
4:33 Great joy
5:1 EVERYONE believed
5:4; 6:3 Prisoners released when they are converted
26 AD Everyone goes home
30 AD 6:12-14; Ranks In society formed, breaking up the church
6:18-19 willful rebellion
6:23, 27-30 Prophets murdered, secret oaths of Gadianton reborn
7:1-3 Government destroyed. Tribal nations born
7:5 Why the government fell
7:12 Jacob heads north
7:18-19 Nephi preaches and performs miracles
7:24-26 Baptism of all who repented
Why were the Nephites so forgiving to the robbers and murderers?
Why were the people so quick to return to their sins?
Everyone believed, but they were not converted. Why not?
