When I first read this book, one of the things that struck me so powerfully, were the things I said in my post above; that the Spirit must validate even the Savior Himself and His words. I wish there were more scriptures that pointed this out specifically for those who have not yet had their spiritual eyes opened. It seems that people believe this concept somehow dethrones the Savior - to say that He and His words alone are not "true enough", but must be ratified by the Spirit. But to me, it does not debase the Savior, but instead shows just how important it is for us to follow the Spirit and not place our trust in the arm of the flesh - ANY flesh.

I just ran across this scripture today that reinforces that point again:

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
