The Pineal Gland:

Unlike most "brain" structures, this gland is not symmetrically divided into halves. It resides between the two, lateral hemispheres of the brain within the epithalamus. It responds in conjunction with light signals received through the eyes to assist in the determination of consciousness. The pineal gland is shaped like a small "pinecone," having all the components for a functioning eye, except it is "internal;" a "spiritual" eye for "in-sight." It has been linked to having a "sixth sense" and has been referred to as the "third eye."
