Gospel Doctrine Book of Mormon Lesson 21
Mosiah 29, Alma 1-4
Righteous principles of government and avoid priestcraft and pride.
Principles of Righteous Govt
29:10-11.... Newly arrange the government
29:12....... Better to be judged of God
29:13....... If all kings were righteous, it would be the best form of government
29:16-17.... How much wickedness can one evil king cause
29:25....... Elect judges to judge according to the laws from the hand of the Lord
29:26-27.... The majority choose good; otherwise, beware destruction
29:28-29.... Structure of the judges
Priestcraft
Men preaching and setting themselves up for a light to the world that they may get gain and praise of the world; they do not seek the welfare of Zion (2 Ne. 26:29).
Were priestcraft to be enforced among this people it would prove their entire destruction: Alma 1:12;
1:3-4....... Desires of Priestcrafts
1:12-14..... Judgment of Alma
Nehor dies
Amlici takes his place and tries to become king
Amlici dies, but the people continue in wickedness
Alma leaves the judgment seat and goes off to preach
Discuss Freedom of Religion among the various governments
