Purpose: To help class members recognize the signs that will precede the Savior's Second Coming and to encourage members to prepare themselves for this great event.
This purpose needs to be remembered when teaching this lesson. It is easy to spend the lesson recalling the signs of the times, but we should also take the time to encourage the class to prepare for that day.

What is the Abomination of Desolation?
It is literally the placing of a statue on the altar in the Holy of Holies in the temple in Jerusalem
