I have received trials and persecutions in my life at times from people that have a distaste for members of our faith. Looking back I see if I would have been more like Christ and been perfect in love in those trials and had not err'd as much that things could have played out better and I could have had the strength to endure those trials with more grace.

Prophecy says that the saints will hardly escape the calamities. It is my prayer that we all repent and have love for each other for it is better IMO than being compelled to be repentant or humbled. If the saints hardly escape I assume it is because we actually need the cleansing as well. Maybe there is a reason the Lord says of the calamities to come, "And upon my house shall it begin, and from my house shall it go forth"

Personally I haven't let the whole ordeal rock my world. Maybe I should have but I've had a feeling this day would come for awhile. It comes as old news in that light. Honestly it did strike me a little weird when it was said, "when their government will not defend or protect a popular vote that reflects the views of a majority of their citizens". I do wonder what protects the views of the minority? It was a rather quick statement though. I will not condemn.

I do actually find rather compelling arguments on both sides of the Gay Marriage issue ranging from Equality to defining something that it isn't and the rights of the children. Hind sight is 20/20 but back in the day wasn't marriage something free of the government? It's my belief that Satan is cunning and knew he could divide people and he knew if the government could take control of marriage way back then that this fight would come in our day. Freedom should have been stood up for way back then.

I look forward to a day when we can live as a more Zion-like society! Maybe the Lord can say of us also, "And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them." In my opinion Zion is a place where people are free and they willing give to help each other out where people are governed by love and not by force. These are my hopes and my 2 cents.
