Recently my wife was napping in the back room. A small brown scorpion, common to the area, crawled up on her. She brushed it away, only to have it sting her on the hand. We called poison control and were told the pain would spread for about six hours and slowly dissipate over the next month. I gave her a blessing, commanding the poison to be inert and spread no further. Within the hour the pain was gone.
